UNESCO -1995.07.11

The ARTS OLYMPIQUES were created to give light to the torch-lit in ancient Greece in 566 BC.

In the ancient Greek calendar, every four years, on “the third year after each Olympic Games”, global art activities were organized and promoted at some sacred spot. Note that the date of the Summer Olympic Games was used as the basis for these activities; the ancient Winter Games did not exist at that time.

Artists all over the world, amateur and professional, are invited without any age or cultural restrictions.

All existing art disciplines will be covered.

The main goal of ARTS OLYMPIQUES is to show the main role of art in building a better world. The purpose is to bring people from different cultural backgrounds together and surround the works that can reflect unique values, such as universality, aesthetics, harmony and non-violence, proving that art is the carrier of deep and persistent values.

In addition to its etymology, still dominated by amateur concepts and associated with Olympism, one of the goals of ARTS OLYMPIQUES is to provide an opportunity for talented artists lacking the necessary means of spreading their message to become recognized global artists.

The ARTS OLYMPIQUES trophy will be awarded to some of the best works after selection on the specified website (under development) according to the specified general competition rules.

Each Modern ARTS OLYMPIQUES competition will assign a theme to all artists to facilitate their efforts to develop their inspiration and creativity to purely human and universal values.

The highest international decision-making bodies will guarantee the impartiality of their activities and will respect the stated purposes.

Values and missions

International Olymp’Arts Committee will provide platforms for talents of art around the world, in alignment with the values of ARTS OLYMPIQUES CHARTER, which are universality, aesthetics, harmony, and non-violence. We believe arts of these values will make the world a better, more harmonious place. The mission of “arts for harmony” will be realized as our events take place in various nations and regions.

We want young minds to impose themselves on the discourse of the community with a shared future of mankind on the platforms of OLYMP’ARTS. Our actions focus on the 17 sustainable development goals of the United Nations. We aim to guide young minds through the difficulties humankind faces, and to a constructive path of development in which they will be involved.

We believe in technology and believe in new ways to express, to generate thoughts, to channel artistic inspirations. We encourage artists to break boundaries, to step into the unknown, to formulate novel syntax in old forms, to create for the future.

Artistic creation is without boundaries and so is human development. The aim of the International Olymp’Arts Committee is to create a worldwide ecosystem of art based on OLYMP’ARTS to develop a brighter future for art and humanity.
